Oban Ball 2018

Once again the team carried out the transfers for the Oban Ball. This year they departed from a  number of locations; Craignure, Loch Spelve and the traditional Grasspoint. The weather wasn’t perfect but they spotted this incredible double rainbow from Craignure. The early runs back to Mull started at 0450 and finished at 0900. The boys earned themselves a good nights sleep after that shift.

A Coll For Celebrations

One of the most regular (and favourite) customers in the past 10 years had a big day to celebrate. So they decided to charter the boat and head out to Coll. They had a very tasty lunch at the Coll Hotel. They also bumped into Cameron as he was out there doing another trip. On the way they spotted some basking sharks and eagles. The weather was a wee bit choppy but luckily the direction was favourable. A wee stop at Tobermory before heading down the sound to Oban. The team wishes her a very Happy Birthday.

Swimming Around The UK!!

Last week Ross Edgley swam by Oban and up the Sound of Mull. Ross is aiming to be the first man to swim all the way around the UK. Also trying to do it in 100 days! An incredible challenge and the team wish him luck. The boys provided a transfer from the vessel back to the mainland. Sponsored by Red Bull, this is not the first incredible challenge he has done.

Out West Lights

On a calm day the lads had another different charter. This time it was to visit both the 1867 Dubh Artach Lighthouse and the 1844 Skerryvore lighthouse. It was a smooth run and all done in efficient time. The passengers had a late lunch in Iona before shooting back to Oban.
Both Stevenson lighthouses as are most of them in Scottish waters. Dubh Artach has a red band painted on it to save sailors confusing it with Skerryvore lighthouse.
