The Gannets of 2022 seem to be having a mixed season around the UK. The bird flu has hit them hard in different locations but numbers seem fairly healthy round our waters. Always incredible to see the biggest seabird in the UK feeding, they hit the water like arrows and it can be a real frenzy. Over 40% of the worlds population is found in Scotland, hopefully this number doesn’t drop too much. Great to see some of the younger ones about too, with the speckled plumage.
