Coastal Connection have been very busy aiding the salvage operation in the Sound of Mull. They were contracted to provide crew transfers between the different vessels and the shore base.
The cargo ship that run aground was floated off and then anchored. The forecast was poor so they towed her down the Sound to a more sheltered bay. This did make transfers more challenging but the skipper Struan handled the boat very well. Once a weather window opened up they made the tow to the Clyde for Lsyblink Seaways to be dry docked.
It was a very interesting charter to be part of and delighted there was no knock on effect to the local wildlife with pollution.
The Salvage Master was delighted with the vessel Schiehallion and no transfer was missed even when the ferry to Mull was cancelled.
